Fashion has Never Been Better with Wayfarers
Tuesday, March 8th, 2011Trends come and go, but with sunglasses, the story’s a little more different. With the increasing designs being offered by sunglasses companies, sunglasses have become an essential part of every outfit. It has come a long way from its origins as a simple protector from the rays of the sun. Popular sunglasses come in so many permutations involving frame style, lens color, width, etc. Because there is so much to choose from, making the best choice is oftentimes hard. This is why most of us base our choice of popular sunglasses from those who make them popular – celebrities. When we see our favorite celebrity sporting a new pair of popular sunglasses, we try our best to snag the same pair in an effort to look as good. Without celebrities, we probably wouldn’t have popular sunglasses either.
There are many brands of popular sunglasses to choose from; the high end ones, of course, are more expensive since these are made by famous designers. You can pick from Ray Ban, Oakley, Juicy Couture and Gucci, but these are only a few examples. These brands are known for their popular sunglasses which are patronized by celebrities and regular people alike. Popular sunglasses are those that offer quality, durability and style. Our main purpose in buying any fashion accessory is to look good; why should popular sunglasses be any different? That’s why when you’re planning to buy a pair, it’s good to think beforehand about what exactly you want. This will save you a lot of time, as well as from wrong decisions due to lack of time. Aside from the style, popular sunglasses should also last for a long time. This is important especially for the more expensive pairs because these are investments. Style shouldn’t override quality because you’re also paying for how long the sunglasses will last.
One style of popular sunglasses that’s a hit among many is wayfarers. Let’s do a little backtracking to see where these wayfarers really started. Back in the 1920’s, during wartime, an American lieutenant was prescribed a pair of sunglasses that allowed his eyes to be less affected by sunlight. Ray Ban went on to produce more of these wayfarers to hand out to the other soldiers to provide their eyes with optimum protection. Although they were limited to the army at first, wayfarers eventually penetrated the fashion industry. This was around the 1950’s, when the popular style for wayfarers were plastic frames, which became an instant hit to many. However, its fame mellowed down during the 60’s. Some might have thought they were gone forever, but wayfarers went back in the business by the 70’s. From then on, its sales just sky rocketed, even until now. These wayfarers became the trademark of Ray Ban, which surely contributed a lot to their sales.
These wayfarers can even come with polarized lenses, meaning they protect the eyes not only from sunlight but also from reflections caused by water or glass. Try surfing the Internet to find sellers or resellers of wayfarers. But of course nothing beats the thrill of shopping in a store. Join the bandwagon and get your own wayfarers now!
